TOASTED MARSHMALLOW BOOZY HOT COCOA
Toasted Marshmallow Boozy Hot Cocoa
From the Taste Tutor “Brown Drinks for Girls” Cocktail series. Something comfy and warm for a chilly Friday.
Yield: 2 servings
PREP IT!
For Hot Cocoa Mix:
8 teaspoons Cocoa powder (Use your favorite combo. I used the following.)
2 teaspoon Red dutch process cocoa powder
2 teaspoon Dutch process cocoa powder
4 teaspoons Natural cocoa powder
8 tablespoon Sugar, granulated
½ teaspoon Salt
8 tablespoons Chocolate chips (Use your favorite combo. I used the following.)
4 tablespoons Semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 tablespoons Extra dark (63% cocoa) chocolate chips
For Hot Cocoa:
½ teaspoon Vanilla extract
16 ounces Milk or Plant-based milk, any kind
1½ ounces Baileys Irish Cream (optional)
2 ounces Whiskey, any kind (optional)
6 each Marshmallow, toasted
2 pieces Brownie, baked, for garnish
MAKE IT!
In a large mug or small pot, stir together cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until evenly mixed.
Add in chocolate chips, vanilla, and milk. Whisk.
Microwave (mug) 2 - 3 minutes, stirring every minute or heat (pot) on the stove top, on medium low, until chocolate chips are melted.
Pour in Irish cream and whiskey (if using) and stir.
Pour hot cocoa into two mugs. Top with toasted marshmallows, and garnish with the brownie (if using). Enjoy!
Tips for Toasting Marshmallows: Toast marshmallows over an open flame by sticking them on a skewer and rotating until browned. Be sure to blow out the flame if the marshmallows catch fire. This recipe is great with plain marshmallows as well!

Tip: For those who don’t drink, feel free to leave out the alcohol. The hot cocoa is gorgeously delicious with out it as well!
